There are two key questions to answer before you can be sure about this.
The first question you need to answer is “What speeds do I really achieve on my Internet connection?”. For many Broadband services the upload speed is very much slower than the download speed. You really need to be sure what upload speed you are getting.
The second question is “How much do I use my Internet connection?”. To answer this question, you have to think hard about the different reasons you connect to the Internet and whether you are trying to get information in or out.
In some cases, there is a third critical factor called latency or ping time to consider. If this value is exceptionally high many of the more complex services you might want to use will struggle.
Changing your Broadband provider can be simple or in some cases it can take a number of months. That has a lot to do with your location and the variety of providers covering your area. In most cases they really want your business, so they will do everything they can to make the change simple and as cost-effective as possible. They aim to make money from you once the contract is in place.
